SWARBRICK FILES FOR ELECTION TO NC HOUSE

LAURINBURG, N.C. – On Tuesday, local conservative leader Melissa Swarbrick filed to run again to represent District 48 in the North Carolina House of Representatives, which encompasses all of Scotland and Hoke counties.

As the Republican Nominee for House District 48 in the 2022 election cycle, Swarbrick was amongst the top vote-getters between both Scotland and Hoke County, coming very close to unseating incumbent Democrat Garland Pierce. Now, Swarbrick is seeking to complete her mission and flip the seat for Republicans.

“I’m humbled to be in the running to serve as the next representative for House District 48,” said Swarbrick, “I look forward to continuing to serve our community, fighting to make our state the best place to live, work, and raise a family.”

Last month, Swarbrick hosted a campaign kickoff event in Raeford which featured many notable elected officials including U.S. Congressman Richard Hudson and state Rep. Ben Moss, who has endorsed Swarbrick:

“We need more strong conservatives serving in Raleigh,” said Moss, “Melissa Swarbrick is exactly the type of leader we need representing her community in the North Carolina House of Representatives, she has what it takes to win, and I’m proud to give her my full endorsement.”

On Swarbrick, U.S. Congressman Richard Hudson said the following:

“Hoke County is growing rapidly, and there’s real opportunities for Republicans to win on the ballot here,” said Hudson, “When you think of a citizen legislator, I can’t think of anyone better than Melissa Swarbrick.”

A dedicated community leader with a heart for public service, Swarbrick grew up in a family that taught her the importance of serving others before herself. Having been an active member of the community for many years, Swarbrick remains dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in our region.

According to Swarbrick, her top priorities include supporting first responders, helping to grow local small businesses, protecting 2nd Amendment rights, improving and expanding career and technical educational opportunities, and fighting against unconstitutional government mandates.
